One of a major series of large scale mixed media drawing, the techniques applied here were first fully explored during a winter residency in the village of Gardenstown on the north coast of the Moray Firth in Aberdeenshire.

This work is inspired by a set of amazing encounters with a Chinese ink master from Bejing, installation artist Helen Goodwin from Brighton, and video artist Jini Rawlings from London. The residency took place over the coldest part of the winter of 2009 and was funded by the Aberdeenshire Council and the Coast Festival of Banff & MacDuff.
